دعا مفوض الأمم المتحدة السامي لحقوق الإنسان، الاثنين، فولكر تورك طرفي الحرب في اليمن إلى "الوقف الفوري" لأي هجوم يهدد بإعادة اليمن إلى دوامة "نزاع واسع النطاق".

وحثّ تورك في بيان على الوقف الفوري لأي تحرك من شأنه أن يهدد بإعادة اليمن إلى أتون نزاع واسع النطاق.

يأتي ذلك في الوقت الذي يصعّد فيه الحوثيون هجماتهم على المناطق الخاضعة لسيطرة الحكومة المعترف بها دوليا بعد سنوات من الهدوء النسبي.

وأعلنت وزارة الدفاع اليمنية في وقت سابق تنفيذ عملية عسكرية استهدفت عناصر جماعة الحوثي وعتادا تابعا لها في محاور عدة على خطوط التماس، ردا على هجمات أخيرة أسفرت عن مقتل وإصابة عسكريين ومدنيين، وفق بيان للجيش.
