صادق مجلس الشيوخ الأميركي، السبت، على تعيين تود بلانش، المحامي الشخصي السابق للرئيس دونالد ترامب، وزيرا للعدل بعد أن تجاهل الجمهوريون في المجلس مخاوف الديمقراطيين بشأن تسييس الوزارة.

وتولّى بلانش في الفترة الأخيرة حقيبة العدل بالإنابة، وكان قد مثّل ترامب بصفته محاميه الخاص في عدة محاكمات جنائية قبل انضمامه إلى الإدارة.

وصادق مجلس الشيوخ حيث للجمهوريين غالبية ضئيلة، على تعيينه بـ50 صوتا مقابل 49.
