قالت مصادر أمنية بحرية إنه تم استهداف سفينة (مينوان بايونير) للبضائع السائبة التي ترفع علم ليبيريا بمقذوف مجهول قرب سواحل سلطنة عُمان وهي تبحر في مضيق هرمز الثلاثاء، وإن الطاقم غادر السفينة، لكن أحد البحارة مفقود.

وذكرت مجموعة فانغارد البريطانية لإدارة المخاطر البحرية في بيان منفصل "وردت أنباء عن أن المقذوف أصاب غرفة المحركات، بينما اندلع حريق في منطقة الإقامة. ويكافح الطاقم لإخماد الحريق ويحتاج إلى مساعدة، بينما لا يزال المهندس الثالث مفقودا".

ولم ترد شركة (موديون ماريتايم مانجمنت) المشغلة للسفينة، ومقرها اليونان، على طلب للتعليق.
