أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الخميس، أن الأضرار التي تلحق بالسفن التي تهاجمها إيران في الخليج سيتم تعويضها من الأصول الإيرانية المجمدة لدى الولايات المتحدة.

وكتب ترامب على منصته تروث سوشال قائلا "ليكن هذا البيان بمثابة إعلان، من الآن فصاعدا وحتى إشعار آخر، أي أضرار ستلحق بالسفن أو البضائع أو أي شيء يتعلق بها، سيتم تعويضها من الأموال الإيرانية التي هي في حوزة الولايات المتحدة وتحت سيطرتها".
