أثار حارس مرمى المنتخب الأرجنتيني إيميليانو «ديبو» مارتينيس الشكوك حول مستقبله الدولي بعدما تساءل عمّا إذا «الوقت حان للتنحي جانبا»، وذلك بعد خسارة نهائي مونديال 2026 أمام إسبانيا الأحد، في رسالة نشرها امس الثلاثاء على إنستجرام.

وقال ابن الـ33 عاما «لقد حلمت بأن نفوز بها (الكأس) مرة أخرى، وحلمت بأن أعيدها إلى الأرجنتين وأن نكتب التاريخ مجددا»، مضيفا «الحقيقة أنه من الصعب وصف الألم. يجب الآن التفكير في أمور كثيرة، والنظر في كيفية المضي قدما، والتساؤل عمّا إذا الوقت حان للتنحي جانبا».

وختم رسالته قائلا «أنا آسف حقا، لقد بذلت قصارى جهدي لمساعدة بلدي وزملائي في الفريق».

وكان مارتينيس أفضل لاعب أرجنتيني في المباراة النهائية بعدما تصدى لـ11 كرة، لكنه لم يتمكن من فعل شيء أمام هدف التتويج الذي سجله فيران توريس في الوقت الإضافي.

وخاض حارس أستون فيلا الإنجليزي 67 مباراة مع منتخب بلاده ويعتبر من ركائزه الأساسية منذ ظهوره الدولي الأول عام 2021، ولعب دورا حاسما في إحراز لقب مونديال 2022 في قطر على حساب فرنسا بركلات الترجيح.
