توعد الرئيس دونالد ترامب إيران الاثنين بأن تدفع الثمن "أضعافا" مقابل كل جندي أميركي يُقتل، وذلك بعدما أعلنت واشنطن في نهاية الأسبوع مقتل ثلاثة عسكريين إضافيين وفقدان جندي رابع في العمليات.

وكتب ترامب على منصته تروث سوشال "في كل مرة تقتل فيها إيران جنديا أميركيا، ستدفع ثمن ذلك أضعافا مضاعفة"، مضيفا أنه "تم إبلاغ وزير الحرب بيت هيغسيث، ورئيس هيئة الأركان المشتركة دانيال كين، وجميع قادة الجيش بهذا التوجيه".
