أكد رئيس الوزراء البريطاني الجديد آندي بورنهام اليوم الإثنين، أن حكومته تسعى إلى إحداث تحول في نهج إدارة البلاد، متعهداً بإعداد خطة عشرية لبريطانيا تحدد أولوياتها ومسارها المستقبلي، وذلك خلال أول خطاب له بعد توليه رئاسة الوزراء.

وقال بورنهام، الذي أصبح خامس رئيس وزراء بريطاني خلال أربع سنوات، خلفاً لكير ستارمر، إن المرحلة الحالية تمثل "نقطة تحول" للبلاد، مؤكداً أن حكومته ستبدأ قريباً في طرح إجراءات تهدف إلى تخفيف الضغوط المرتبطة بتكاليف المعيشة ومساعدة المواطنين على مواجهة الأعباء المالية.

كما تعهد رئيس الوزراء الجديد باتخاذ خطوات لإنهاء ظاهرة التشرد في الشوارع، وزيادة بناء مساكن المجالس المحلية، إلى جانب الحفاظ على التزامات المملكة المتحدة في مجال الدفاع.
