تجاوزت حصيلة الزلزالين اللذين ضربا فنزويلا الشهر الماضي عتبة الخمسة آلاف قتيل، وفق ما أعلن رئيس الجمعية الوطنية خورخي رودريغيز في منشور على تطبيق تلغرام الجمعة.

وضرب الزلزالان اللذان بلغت قوتهما 7,2 و7,5 درجات البلاد بفارق زمني يقل عن دقيقة واحدة في 24 حزيران/يونيو، وخلّفا دمارا كبيرا في ولاية لا غوايرا الساحلية الواقعة شمال كراكاس.

وقال رودريغيز إن الكارثة أودت بحياة 5069 شخصا، مشيرا إلى أن معظم الضحايا سقطوا في المنطقة الساحلية.
