رفض مجلس النواب الأمريكي اليوم الأربعاء تعديلا يقضي بوقف المساعدات لإسرائيل، على الرغم من تأييد ما يقرب من نصف الديمقراطيين له، مما يعكس خلافا متزايدا بين التقدميين الأمريكيين ‌وإسرائيل بشأن هجماتها على قطاع غزة.

وصوت مجلس النواب بأغلبية 314 صوتا مقابل 104 أصوات لصالح رفض هذا الإجراء، الذي قدمه النائب الجمهوري توماس ماسي من ولاية كنتاكي بوصفه تعديلا على مشروع قانون الإنفاق الخاص بوزارة الخارجية.
