قال الناطق الإعلامي باسم مديرية الأمن العام أن فرق الغطس المتخصصة في مديرية دفاع مدني غرب إربد وبإسناد من دفاع مدني شرق إربد تلقت بلاغاً بتعرض شخص يبلغ من العمر (19) عاماً من إحدى الجنسيات العربية للغرق داخل قناة الملك عبدالله بمنطقة الشونة الشمالية بمحافظة إربد.

وبين الناطق الإعلامي أن فرق الغطس قامت بالبحث والتفتيش عنه داخل المياه وعثرت عليه وعملت أيضاً على إخراجه من داخل المياه ونقله إلى مستشفى معاذ بن جبل الحكومي، وتم فتح تحقيق بذلك.
