رحّبت وزارة الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين بإعلان الولايات المتحدة الأميركية عن بدء إجراءات إلغاء قانون تصنيف الجمهورية العربية السورية دولة راعية للإرهاب الذي أُدرِج عام 1979.

وأكّد الناطق الرسمي باسم الوزارة السفير فؤاد المجالي ترحيب المملكة بالإعلان الذي يمثّل خطوةً هامةً نحو دعم جهود سوريا في إعادة البناء، وتعزيز خطوات التعافي، وتحقيق تطلعات شعبها بالتنمية والازدهار.

وجدّد المجالي التأكيد على موقف المملكة الثابت في دعم الشقيقة سوريا في إعادة البناء على الأسس التي تضمن وحدتها وسيادتها وأمنها واستقرارها وسلامة أراضيها ومواطنيها وتحفظ حقوق السوريين كافة.
