اعتبر الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون الإثنين أن بقاء "الاحتلال" الإسرائيلي في جنوب البلاد يمنع انتشار الجيش، بينما يستعد الطرفان لتطبيق اتفاق إطار ينص على انسحاب تدريجي للقوات الإسرائيلية وانتشار للقوات المسلحة اللبنانية تباعا.

وشدّد عون، وفق ما نقلت عنه الرئاسة، "على أهمية الضغط على إسرائيل للانسحاب من المناطق التي تحتلها في لبنان"، موضحا أن "بقاء الاحتلال يقوّض شرعية الدولة ويمنع انتشار الجيش، وأسس تحقيق السلام العادل والدائم".
