التقى وزير الخارجية السوري أسعد الشيباني، في العاصمة اللبنانية بيروت، مع الرئيس اللبناني جوزاف عون.

وبحسب بيان صادر عن وزارة الخارجية السورية، فقد تم بحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين على أساس الاحترام المتبادل وحسن الجوار، وتعزيز آليات التعاون الاقتصادي بين البلدين ومناقشة آخر التطورات الإقليمية والدولية ذات الاهتمام المشترك.

ونقلت وسائل إعلام لبنانية عن وزير الخارجية السوري قوله إن دمشق منفتحة على لقاء ممثلين عن حزب الله إذا اقتضت المصلحة ذلك.
