ضرب زلزال بقوة 6 درجات على مقياس ريختر، الثلاثاء، ولاية يوكاتان جنوب شرقي المكسيك.

وأفادت بيانات هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية أن الزلزال وقع على بعد 75 كيلومتراً جنوب غرب مدينة "إل بروجريسو" التابعة لولاية يوكاتان.

وأضافت البيانات أن مركز الزلزال كان في عرض البحر وعلى عمق 10 كيلومترات، وقد سُجلت قوته عند 6 درجات.

ولم ترد حتى الآن أي تقارير عن خسائر بشرية أو مادية جراء الزلزال.

وفي سياق متصل، كانت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية قد أعلنت في 24 يونيو/حزيران الجاري وقوع زلزالين في فنزويلا بقوتي 7.2 و7.5 درجات خلال 39 ثانية فقط.

كما قدّر برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في 26 يونيو/حزيران تكلفة الأضرار المادية المباشرة الناجمة عن الزلازل بنحو 6.7 مليارات دولار.

وأشارت بيانات لاحقة إلى أن عدد المفقودين تجاوز 68 ألف شخص حتى 27 يونيو، فيما بلغ عدد الضحايا 1943 شخصاً.
