ارتفع عدد ضحايا الزلزال المزدوج الذي ضرب فنزويلا في 24 يونيو/حزيران الجاري إلى 1943 قتيلاً، فيما تتواصل عمليات البحث والإنقاذ في المناطق المتضررة.

وقال رئيس البرلمان الفنزويلي خورخي رودريغيز، في تصريحات متلفزة الثلاثاء، إن عدد القتلى ارتفع إلى 1943 قتيلاً، فيما بلغ عدد المصابين أكثر من 10 آلاف و571 شخصاً.

وكان زلزال مزدوج قد ضرب فنزويلا في 24 يونيو/حزيران الجاري، الأول بقوة 7.2 درجات والثاني بقوة 7.5 درجات على مقياس ريختر.

وأعلن برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في 26 يونيو/حزيران أن تكلفة الأضرار المادية المباشرة الناجمة عن الزلزال المزدوج تُقدّر بنحو 6.7 مليارات دولار.
