أعلن رئيس الجمعية الوطنية الفنزويلية خورخي رودريغيز، اليوم السبت، ارتفاع حصيلة ضحايا الزلزالين القويين اللذين ضربا العاصمة كاركاس والمناطق القريبة منها يوم الأربعاء الماضي إلى 1430 قتيلا.

وأضاف رودريغيز في تصريح بثه التلفزيون ‌الحكومي الفنزويلي، أن 3200 ‌آخرين أصيبوا بجروح، في حين ‌أصبح 3100 شخص بلا مأوى جراء ‌هذه الكارثة.

وكانت الأمم المتحدة قدّرت في بيان لها أمس، عدد المفقودين بأكثر من 50 ألفا، مضيفة أنه يجري نشر فرق إنقاذ من 17 دولة على الأقل للمشاركة في عمليات البحث عن ناجين، في وقت أعلنت السلطات الفنزويلية حالة الطوارئ في البلاد.
