استعادت بلجيكا توازنها وحققت فوزها الأول في نهائيات كأس العالم 2026، بتغلبها على نيوزيلندا 5-1 السبت ضمن الجولة الثالثة من منافسات المجموعة السابعة، لتضرب عصفورين بحجر واحد من خلال حجز مقعدها في دور الـ32 وانتزاع الصدارة.

وسجّل أهداف بلجيكا لياندرو تروسار (28 و50) والقائد كيفن دي بروين (66) وروميلو لوكاكو (86) والبديل أليكسي سالماكرس (90+4) ولنيوزيلندا إيلايجا جاست (84).

ورفع البلجيكيون رصيدهم إلى 5 نقاط في صدارة المجموعة وبفارق هدف عن مصر المتأهلة عن الوصافة بعد تعادلها أمام إيران الثالثة (3 نقاط) 1-1، فيما حلت نيوزيلندا أخيرة بنقطة يتيمة.
