أكّد نائب رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية وشؤون المغتربين أيمن الصفدي أهمية الدور الذي تقوم به وكالة الأمم المتحدة لإغاثة وتشغيل اللاجئين الفلسطينيين (الأونروا)، وضرورة توفير الدعم اللازم لها لتمكينها من الاستمرار في أداء مهامها وفق تكليفها الأممي.

جاء ذلك خلال استقبال الصفدي، الأربعاء، القائم بأعمال المفوّض العام للوكالة كريستيان سوندرز، في لقاء بحثا فيه جهود دعم الوكالة وتمكينها من مواصلة تقديم خدماتها الحيوية للاجئين الفلسطينيين في مناطق عملياتها الخمس.

وجدّد الصفدي التأكيد على أهمية دور الوكالة الذي لا يمكن الاستغناء عنه في تقديم الخدمات الأساسية للاجئين الفلسطينيين.
