بحث الرئيس اللبناني العماد جوزاف عون مع نائب الرئيس الأميركي جي دي فانس، وكبير مستشاري الرئيس الأميركي جاريد كوشنير، ورئيس الوزراء القطري محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن جاسم آل ثاني، خلال اتصال هاتفي، سبل تثبيت وقف إطلاق النار في لبنان ووقف التصعيد العسكري الإسرائيلي.

وتناول الاتصال الخطوات الواجب اتخاذها في هذا الصدد، بما في ذلك إمكانية تشكيل خلية متابعة تعمل على تثبيت وقف إطلاق النار ومواكبة الجهود الرامية إلى تعزيز الاستقرار ومنع التصعيد.

وأفاد التلفزيون الرسمي الإيراني، الأحد، بأن وفدي طهران وواشنطن المفاوضين عقدا جولة أولى من المباحثات في سويسرا، ركزت على الوضع في لبنان ولم تتطرق إلى الملف النووي.
