يصوت مجلس الأمن الدولي الثلاثاء المقبل، على مشروع قرار بشأن المساءلة عن الجرائم المرتكبة ضد حفظة السلام التابعين للأمم المتحدة.

ومشروع القرار مفتوح للمشاركة في الرعاية المشتركة من قبل أعضاء الأمم المتحدة كافة حيث تشارك في رعايته اكثر من 100 دولة عضو.

ويواجه حفظة السلام العاملون في بيئات نزاع تزداد تعقيدًا وتقلبًا، تهديدات متزايدة من الجماعات المسلحة، والهجمات الإرهابية، والنيران غير المباشرة، والعبوات الناسفة والتقنيات الناشئة مثل الطائرات المسيّرة.

ووفقًا للأمم المتحدة، فقد ما يقرب من 4500 من حفظة السلام حياتهم أثناء أداء الواجب منذ عام 1948، بما في ذلك 59 حالة وفاة عام 2025 وحده كان آخرها في لبنان.
