قال مسؤول إسرائيلي كبير مقرب من رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، إن تل أبيب تجري "مفاوضات عنيدة" مع الولايات المتحدة بشأن وجودها في جنوب لبنان، وفق ما نقلت وكالة رويترز.

وأضاف المسؤول أن إسرائيل لن تتراجع عن مواقفها التي تتضمن إبقاء قوات منتشرة في المنطقة الواقعة جنوبي نهر الليطاني في لبنان.

وقال مسؤول إسرائيلي ثان لرويترز إن نتيجة المحادثات ستتوقف على ما إذا كان الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب سيصر على موقفه ويهدد إسرائيل بعواقب وخيمة إذا لم تلتزم ببنود الاتفاق المؤقت مع إيران.

ووسعت إسرائيل توغلها في جنوب لبنان بعدما أطلق حزب الله النار عليها في الثاني من مارس آذار دعما لحليفته إيران.

وشنت إسرائيل حملة جوية وبرية مدمرة منذ ذلك الحين على لبنان وتقول إن الهدف منها هو القضاء على جماعة حزب الله.
