اتفقت إسرائيل ولبنان الأربعاء، على تنفيذ وقف لإطلاق النار، لكنهما قالا إن ذلك يتطلب "وقفا تاما" لإطلاق النار من جانب حزب الله المدعوم من إيران، وفق ما أفاد بيان مشترك صدر عقب محادثات بين الجانبين في واشنطن.

كما اتفق الجانبان اللذان لا تربطهما علاقات دبلوماسية رسمية، على إنشاء "مناطق تجريبية" يتولى فيها الجيش اللبناني السيطرة "بشكل حصري على المنطقة مع استبعاد أي جهات فاعلة غير حكومية". وأضاف البيان أن الجانبين اتفقا على استئناف المحادثات بشأن "المسارات السياسية والأمنية" خلال الأسبوع الذي يبدأ في 22 حزيران/يونيو، بهدف التوصل إلى اتفاق شامل.
