انتخبت اللجنة المركزية لحركة فتح، الاربعاء، حسين الشيخ نائبا لرئيس الحركة.

جاء ذلك خلال اجتماع اللجنة المركزية الجديدة لحركة فتح برئاسة الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس.

وحركة فتح هي المكوّن الأبرز في منظمة التحرير التي تعتبر الممثل الشرعي الوحيد للفلسطينيين في العالم، وتضم معظم الفصائل الفلسطينية وتغيب عنها حركتا حماس والجهاد الإسلامي. ويرأسها الرئيس الفلسطيني محمود عباس.

واستمرّ مؤتمر فتح الثامن ثلاثة أيام وتخلّله إجراء انتخابات اللجنة المركزية والمجلس الثوري (برلمان الحركة). كما شهد إعادة انتخاب محمود عباس (90 عاما) رئيسا لفتح، وهو يرأس الحركة والسلطة ومنظمة التحرير منذ أكثر من عقدين.
