أصدر رئيس وزراء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو ووزير الدفاع يسرائيل كاتس بيانا مشتركا وجّها فيه الجيش الإسرائيلي إلى مهاجمة أهداف في حي الهدىية في بيروت.

وقال الجانبان إن هذا التوجيه جاء عقب ما وصفاه بـ "الانتهاكات المتكررة لوقف إطلاق النار في لبنان من قبل حزب الله والهجمات التي استهدفت عدة مدن".
