رحبت الولايات المتحدة الجمعة بمحادثات "بناءة" بين الوفدين العسكريين اللبناني والإسرائيلي في البنتاغون، وهي الأولى من نوعها منذ عقود.

وقال نائب وزير الدفاع إلبريدج كولبي على منصة إكس "استقبلت اليوم في البنتاغون وفودا عسكرية من إسرائيل ولبنان في إطار الشق الأمني الرامي إلى دعم محادثات السلام الجارية بين البلدين". وأضاف "كانت مناقشات بناءة (...) ستكون بمثابة الأساس للشق السياسي الذي ستقوده وزارة الخارجية الأسبوع المقبل".
