تستضيف المملكة المتحدة وفرنسا الثلاثاء اجتماعا لوزراء دفاع عشرات الدول بشأن الخطط العسكرية الرامية إلى استعادة حركة الشحن البحري عبر مضيق هرمز، وفق ما أعلنت الحكومة البريطانية.

وجاء في بيان لوزارة الدفاع البريطانية الأحد "سيرأس وزير الدفاع جون هيلي مع نظيرته الفرنسية الوزيرة كاترين فوتران، اجتماعا لأكثر من 40 دولة، هو الأول لوزراء الدفاع في إطار المهمة المتعددة الجنسيات".

وجاء الإعلان بعد ساعات على تحذير إيراني للندن وباريس من مغبة نشر قطع بحرية في المنطقة.
