قالت إيران، السبت، إنّ الأمر متروك للولايات المتحدة لاختيار ما إذا كانت ستسعى إلى تسوية تفاوضية أو العودة إلى الحرب المفتوحة، مضيفة أنّها مستعدة لأي من الاحتمالين.

وقال نائب وزير الخارجية كاظم غريب آبادي لسفراء ورؤساء البعثات الدبلوماسية المقيمين في طهران، "قدمت إيران خطتها إلى الوسيط الباكستاني بهدف إنهاء الحرب المفروضة بشكل دائم"، مضيفا "الكرة الآن في ملعب الولايات المتحدة لاختيار طريق الدبلوماسية أو الاستمرار في نهج المواجهة".

وأكد أنّ "إيران مستعدة لكلا المسارين بهدف تأمين مصالحها الوطنية وأمنها"، وذلك بحسب ما نقلت عنه هيئة الإذاعة والتلفزيون الرسمية.
