أعلن البنتاغون الجمعة، أن وزير الدفاع بيت هيغسيث أمر بسحب نحو خمسة آلاف جندي من ألمانيا خلال عام، هو ما يمثل قرابة 15% من القوات الأميركية المتمركزة في الدولة الأوروبية.

وقال المتحدث باسم البنتاغون، شون بارنيل، في بيان "نتوقع إتمام عملية الانسحاب خلال الأشهر الستة إلى الاثني عشر المقبلة". ويتمركز حاليا نحو 35 ألف جندي أميركي في ألمانيا.
