قرر البنك المركزي الأميركي، الأربعاء، إبقاء أسعار الفائدة الرئيسية لليلة واحدة دون تغيير في نطاق 3.50-3.75%.

ولم يقدم البنك إشارة على موعد تغيير السياسة النقدية مشيرا إلى زيادة عدم اليقين بسبب التطورات في الشرق الأوسط.

واضاف البنك أن الدلائل الحديثة تشير إلى أن النشاط الاقتصادي يتوسع بوتيرة قوية.

وأوضح أن زيادة الوظائف منخفضة في المتوسط ولم يطرأ تغيير يذكر على معدل البطالة.

ووصف البنك التضخم بأنه "مرتفع" بدلا من "مرتفع إلى حد ما" في بيان سابق مستشهدا بارتفاع أسعار الطاقة العالمية.

واوضح أن التطورات في الشرق الأوسط تسهم في ارتفاع مستوى عدم اليقين بشأن التوقعات الاقتصادية.
