قال مسؤول كبير في وزارة الدفاع الأميركية (البنتاغون)، الأربعاء، إن الحرب الأميركية على إيران كلفت الولايات المتحدة نحو 25 مليار دولار حتى الآن، إذ يعد هذا أول تقدير رسمي لتكاليف الحرب.

وقال القائم بأعمال المراقب المالي جولز هيرست، لأعضاء لجنة القوات المسلحة في مجلس النواب، إن معظم هذه الأموال أنفقت على الذخائر.

وبدأت الولايات المتحدة شن غارات جوية على إيران في 28 شباط، فيما يلتزم الطرفان حاليا بوقف إطلاق نار هش.
