تعمل الأمم المتحدة للإبقاء على حضور لها في لبنان بعد انتهاء مهمة قواتها في جنوب البلاد (يونيفيل) نهاية العام الحالي، بحسب ما أعلن وكيل الأمين العام لعمليات السلام جان بيار لاكروا.

وقال لاكروا في مؤتمر صحافي في جنيف الخميس إن مجلس الأمن الدولي طلب "خيارات من أجل حضور محتمل ما بعد اليونيفيل للأمم المتحدة"، مضيفا "علينا رفع هذه التوصيات... قبل الأول من حزيران هذا العام".
