ذكر موقع أكسيوس، نقلا عن مصادر أميركية، أن نائب الرئيس جي دي فانس سيتوجه إلى باكستان الثلاثاء من أجل محادثات إيران.

وقال مسؤول حكومي باكستاني كبير، الاثنين، إن إسلام أباد واثقة في قدرتها على إقناع إيران بحضور محادثات مع الولايات المتحدة.

وأضاف المصدر الذي طلب عدم الكشف عن هويته: "تلقينا إشارة إيجابية من إيران. الأمور ما تزال غير مستقرة، لكننا نسعى جاهدين لضمان حضورهم عند بدء المحادثات غدا أو بعد غد".

وأشار المصدر إلى أن باكستان تتواصل على نحو فعال مع طهران وواشنطن مع اقتراب الموعد النهائي لوقف إطلاق النار الذي حدده الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب.
