أوعز رئيس الوزراء اللبناني نواف سلام بإجراء "تحقيق فوري" للكشف عن ملابسات اعتداء طال السبت عناصر من الكتيبة الفرنسية العاملة في قوة الأمم المتحدة الموقتة (يونيفيل)، التي أكد متحدث باسمها أن الحادث وقع في جنوب لبنان.

وقال سلام في بيان "استنكر بأشد العبارات الاعتداء اليوم على عناصر من الكتيبة الفرنسية في اليونيفيل. وقد أعطيت تعليماتي المشددة بأجراء التحقيق الفوري للكشف عن ملابسات هذا الاعتداء ومحاسبة المرتكبين"، معتبرا أن "هذا المسلك غير المسؤول يلحق الأذى الكبير بلبنان وعلاقاته مع الدول الصديقة الداعمة له".

وأكد متحدث باسم قوة يونيفيل حصول "حادث هذا الصباح طال عناصرنا من حفظة السلام في بلدة الغندورية" في جنوب لبنان، مشيرا إلى فتح "تحقيق"، من دون أي تفاصيل عن ماهية الحادث وما إذا كان أسفر عن سقوط ضحايا.
