حقق لاعب المنتخب الوطني للملاكمة، زياد عشيش، الميدالية الذهبية ضمن منافسات وزن 70 كغم ببطولة آسيا للملاكمة للنخبة وذلك بعد فوزه في النهائي على بطل العالم، الكازاخستاني تورخان صابيرخان.

وكان المنتخب الوطني للملاكمة قد بدأ منافسات بطولة آسيا للنخبة التي تقام في منغوليا.
