حذر رؤساء صندوق النقد والبنك الدوليان وبرنامج الأغذية العالمي في بيان مشترك اليوم الأربعاء من أن الزيادات الحادة في أسعار النفط والغاز الطبيعي والأسمدة ستؤدي إلى زيادة أسعار الغذاء وانعدام الأمن الغذائي.

وقال القادة في البيان إن العبء سيقع بشكل أكبر على عاتق السكان الأكثر عرضة للضرر في العالم، لا سيما في الاقتصادات ذات الدخل المنخفض والمعتمدة على الواردات.

وأكدوا أن مؤسساتهم ستواصل مراقبة التطورات عن كثب و"تنسيق استخدام جميع الأدوات المتاحة لدعم المتضررين من الأزمة".
