قالت إيران الأربعاء إنها ستضمن مرورا آمنا لحركة الملاحة في مضيق هرمز لمدة أسبوعين، معلنة أن هذه الفترة ستستخدم لإجراء محادثات مع الولايات المتحدة بشأن إنهاء الحرب والتي تبدأ الجمعة في إسلام آباد.

وقال وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقجي على منصة إكس "لمدة أسبوعين، سيكون المرور الآمن عبر مضيق هرمز ممكنا من خلال التنسيق مع القوات المسلحة الإيرانية ومع مراعاة القيود التقنية".

وقال عراقجي للمجلس الأعلى للأمن القومي في الجمهورية الإسلامية في بيان منفصل، إن المفاوضات من المقرر أن تستمر أسبوعين لكن يمكن "تمديدها باتفاق متبادل بين الطرفين".
