قال رئيس البنك الدولي أجاي بانجا، الثلاثاء، إن الحرب في الشرق الأوسط ستؤدي إلى تباطؤ نمو الاقتصاد العالمي وارتفاع التضخم بغض النظر عن سرعة انتهائها.

وأضاف بانجا، خلال فعالية استضافها المجلس الأطلسي، أن البنك الدولي تمكن من صرف مليارات الدولارات بسرعة للدول المتضررة من الحرب عبر آلياته المخصصة للأزمات، كما فعل خلال ذروة جائحة كوفيد-19.
