وجّه الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، تهديدا مباشرا إلى إيران، متوعدا بتصعيد عسكري يستهدف البنية التحتية الحيوية، في حال عدم فتح مضيق هرمز.

وقال ترامب، في منشور على منصة "تروث سوشيال"، إن "يوم الثلاثاء سيكون يوم محطات الطاقة ويوم الجسور، كل ذلك في يوم واحد، في إيران"، مضيفا: "لن يكون هناك شيء مثله أبدا".

ودعا إيران إلى فتح المضيق، مستخدما لهجة حادة، قائلاً: "افتحوا المضيق... وإلا فستعيشون في الجحيم - فقط انتظروا وشاهدوا".

ويأتي هذا التصعيد في إطار تحذيرات متكررة أطلقها ترامب خلال الأيام الماضية، تتعلق باستهداف منشآت حيوية في إيران، على خلفية التوترات المرتبطة بحركة الملاحة في مضيق هرمز.
