أعلنت مؤسسة البترول الكويتية، فجر الأحد، تعرض مجمع القطاع النفطي في منطقة الشويخ الذي يضم المؤسسة ووزارة النفط إلى هجوم بطائرات مسيرة ما أسفر عن اندلاع حريق في المبنى.

وأوضحت المؤسسة، في بيان أوردته وكالة الأنباء الكويتية كونا، أن فرق الطوارئ والإطفاء باشرت فورًا التعامل مع الحريق.

وأضافت، أنه تم إخلاء المبنى بشكل كامل ووفق الإجراءات الاحترازية المعتمدة، مشيرة إلى أنه لم تسجل أي إصابات بشرية.

وأكدت المؤسسة، أن قيادة القطاع النفطي تتابع تقييم الأضرار الناجمة بالتنسيق مع السلطات المعنية مع اتخاذ التدابير اللازمة لضمان سالمة العاملين وتأمين الموقع.
