أعلن وزير النقل التركي عبد القادر أورال أوغلو، السبت، أن سفينة ثانية تابعة لشركة تركية عبرت مضيق هرمز.

وقال: "وقت اندلاع الحرب، كان هناك 15 سفينة تابعة لشركات تركية... واثنتان منها عبرتا" مضيق هرمز".

وقال دبلوماسيون إنهم يتوقعون أن يجري مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة تصويتا على مشروع قرار قدمته البحرين بشأن حماية الملاحة التجارية في مضيق هرمز ومحيطه الأسبوع المقبل، لكن الصين التي تتمتع بحق النقض قالت إنها تعارض أي تفويض باستخدام القوة.

وكان من المقرر عقد اجتماع لأعضاء مجلس الأمن الخمسة عشر الجمعة، ثم تغير موعده إلى السبت، وأفاد عدد من الدبلوماسيين بتأجيله إلى الأسبوع المقبل دون تحديد موعد جديد حتى الآن.

ويواجه القرار معارضة من الصين وروسيا ودول أخرى، وتم تغيير صيغته الأصلية.
