ضرب زلزال بحري بقوة 7,4 درجات شرق إندونيسيا الخميس، وفق ما أفادت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية فيما أصدر مركز مراقبة أميركي تحذيرا من احتمال حدوث "موجات تسونامي خطيرة" في نطاق ألف كيلومتر من مركز الزلزال.

وقالت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأميركية إن الزلزال الذي سُجل في البداية بقوة 7,8 درجات، وقع في بحر مولوكا عند الساعة 06,48 بالتوقيت المحلي (22,48 بتوقيت غرينتش).

وأصدر مركز التحذير من التسونامي في المحيط الهادئ ومقره هاواي إنذارا من حدوث موجات تسونامي خطيرة "في نطاق ألف كيلومتر من مركز الزلزال" على طول سواحل إندونيسيا والفيليبين وماليزيا.
