قال رئيس وزراء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو، الأحد، إنه أمر الجيش بالعمل على "توسيع المنطقة العازلة" في لبنان، في وقت يواصل الاحتلال خجومه في جنوب لبنان.

وقال نتنياهو في بيان مصوَّر: "في لبنان، أمرت للتو الجيش بتوسيع المنطقة العازلة القائمة بشكل أكبر".

وأضاف: "الهدف من ذلك هو احتواء خطر أي هجوم (يشنه مقاتلو حزب الله) بشكل نهائي، ومنع إطلاق صواريخ مضادة للدبابات على الحدود".

وخلال زيارة قام بها لقيادة الجبهة الشمالية، أوضح نتنياهو أن حزب الله لا يزال يحتفظ بـ "إمكانات محدودة" لإطلاق الصواريخ على إسرائيل.

وأضاف: "إيران لم تعد إيران، وحزب الله لم يعد حزب الله، وحماس لم تعد هي حماس".
