أكد الجيش الإسرائيلي الجمعة أنه استهدف مفاعل آراك النووي العامل بالمياه الثقيلة في وسط إيران، في اليوم الثامن والعشرين من الحرب في الشرق الأوسط، وذلك بعيد تقارير إعلامية إيرانية عن ضربات أميركية-إسرائيلية طالت الموقع.

وقال الجيش الإسرائيلي في بيان إن "سلاح الجو الإسرائيلي (...) استهدف قبل وقت قصير مفاعل المياه الثقيلة في آراك بوسط إيران"، معتبرا أنه "موقع رئيسي لإنتاج البلوتونيوم المستخدم في الأسلحة النووية".
