أعلنت الكويت الأربعاء توقيف ستة أشخاص قالت إنهم مرتبطون بحزب الله، متهمين بالتخطيط لتنفيذ عمليات اغتيال تستهدف شخصيات قيادية في الدولة.

وقالت وزارة الداخلية في بيان إنّ "جهاز أمن الدولة تمكّن، بعد عمليات رصد ومتابعة أمنية دقيقة، من إحباط مخطط إرهابي وضبط شبكة مكوّنة من (5) مواطنين و(شخص) غير كويتي ممن سُحبت جنسيته". وأضافت أنّه تم "رصد وتحديد (14) متهما هاربين خارج البلاد، (5) مواطنين و(5) أشخاص غير كويتيين ممن سحبت جنسياتهم و(شخصين) من الجنسية الإيرانية و(شخصين) من الجنسية اللبنانية".

وأكدت الوزارة أنه "ثبت ارتباطهم بتنظيم حزب الله الإرهابي المحظور، حيث كانت تخطط الشبكة لتنفيذ عمليات اغتيال تستهدف رموز وقيادات الدولة وتجنيد أشخاص للقيام بهذه المهام".
