هددت إيران الاثنين بزرع ألغام بحرية في الخليج إن أقدمت الولايات المتحدة وإسرائيل على مهاجمة سواحلها أو جزرها، في اليوم الرابع والعشرين على اندلاع الحرب في الشرق الأوسط.

وقال مجلس الدفاع الإيراني في بيان نقلته وسائل الإعلام الحكومية "أي محاولة من العدو لمهاجمة السواحل أو الجزر الإيرانية ستؤدي بطبيعة الحال، ووفقا للأعراف العسكرية، إلى تلغيم كل طرق الوصول والاتصال في الخليج الفارسي والمناطق الساحلية بأنواع مختلفة من الألغام البحرية، بما في ذلك الألغام العائمة التي يمكن زرعها من السواحل".
