ذكرت صحيفة الغارديان البريطانية أن وزيرة الخارجية ايفيت كوبر أشارت أمام البرلمان إلى مناقشات، تشارك فيها بريطانيا مع شركائها الدوليين، بشأن إمكانية تشكيل تحالف دولي لتأمين مضيق هرمز، وإعادة حركة الشحن التجاري، مؤكدة أن هذه الجهود منفصلة عن الصراع العسكري.

وأوضحت الوزيرة أن لندن تجري مشاورات مع حلفاء أوروبيين مثل ألمانيا وإيطاليا وفرنسا، إلى جانب الولايات المتحدة ودول الخليج، لضمان عودة الملاحة التجارية في أسرع وقت ممكن.
