قال وزير الدفاع الكوري الجنوبي، الثلاثاء، إن بلاده لا تدرس إرسال مدمرة بحرية لمضيق هرمز.

وأشار إلى أن إرسال سفينة حربية إلى مضيق هرمز سيتطلب موافقة البرلمان.

وأضاف أن سول لا تنوي إرسال سفينتها الحربية التابعة لوحدة تشيونغهاي الكورية الجنوبية التي تحمل اسم روكس داي جو-يونغ إلى مضيق هرمز.

وتتواجد كوريا الجنوبية بالفعل في الشرق الأوسط منذ إرسال الوحدة في 2009 لمرافقة سفنها التجارية التي تبحر بالقرب من السواحل الصومالية في عمليات لمكافحة القرصنة.
