تعرّضت قاعدة عسكرية في مطار بغداد الدولي، التي تستضيف فريقًا للدعم اللوجستي يتبع للسفارة الأميركية، لهجوم باستخدام المسيرات والصواريخ مساء الأحد، حسبما أفاد ثلاثة مسؤولين أمنيين.

وأوضح مسؤول في الجيش أن معسكر فيكتوري تعرض إلى تسع هجمات باستخدام المسيرات والصواريخ. وأضاف مسؤولان آخران تأكيدًا لذلك، مشيرًا إلى أن ثلاث مسيرات على الأقل تم اعتراضها.

وبينما لم يتضح بعد ما إذا كانت القاعدة قد أصيبت، سُمع دوي انفجارات في بغداد قرابة الساعة 19:05 (16:05 ت غ).
