أظهرت مراجعة أجرتها رويترز لبيانات تتبع ناقلات النفط استمرار تدفق النفط الخام الإيراني عبر مضيق هرمز بوتيرة شبه طبيعية، رغم أن هجمات مرتبطة بطهران على سفن في الممر المائي الضيق أدت إلى تراجع حاد في صادرات النفط من دول الخليج.

وكشف تحليل أجرته شركة (تانكر تراكر دوت كوم) أن إيران صدرت حوالي 13.7 مليون برميل من النفط الخام منذ بدء الهجمات الإسرائيلية الأمريكية في 28 فبراير ‌شباط. وتانكر تراكر دوت كوم هي شركة معلومات بحرية متخصصة في تتبع ما يسمى بأسطول الظل، وهو شبكة من السفن المستخدمة لنقل النفط والغاز من البلدان الخاضعة للعقوبات الغربية.
