قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب الأربعاء إن قوات بلاده ضربت 28 سفينة إيرانية لزرع الألغام، فيما تسعى طهران إلى إحكام سيطرتها على مضيق هرمز الحيوي لتجارة النفط والغاز المسال في ظل الحرب الأميركية الإسرائيلية عليها.

وصرّح ترامب للصحافيين خلال زيارة إلى سينسيناتي بولاية أوهايو "لقد ضربنا 28 سفينة لزرع الألغام حتى هذه اللحظة". وكان الجيش الأميركي أعلن في اليوم السابق عن تدمير 16 زورقا لزرع الألغام في المنطقة.
